Happy Birthday, Ivon!

Isn’t he cute?  (I love this picture of him!)
I just wanted to publicly say how much I love this guy!  He’s amazing.
He’s a great strength to me, and I don’t know what I would do without him!
He also turned 33 today!  I noticed a few more gray hairs on his head, too!
Happy Birthday, Ivon!
I love you!

Robby’s First Day of Kindergarten

Can you believe it?  I can’t.  He’s now in school.
Heaven help Birch Creek Elementary!  Just kidding.
Maybe.
I really don’t know what’s with his smiles.
I think they are broken and under construction.
Doesn’t he look cute?!
He was so excited!
Especially because he got to wear his Spiderman shirt.
The picture changes to color when he’s in the sun.
I now have three kids in school.
Christopher had to pose for the camera…
with his backpack and “hallma-ike” (a.k.a. homework. The notebook).
For when he goes to “gool”.
He’s going to be mighty lonely without Robby.
Until Mallie comes, of course.
Then he’ll be a “great” “HELP(!)”.
Robby was mostly ready for me to go.
I sure had a hard time leaving him there.
Especially with this face…
He had a great day, though.
When I asked him, “What did you do?”,
he said, “Nothing.”
Typical answer from my children about school.

First Day of 2011-2012!

Wo-hoo!  We are SO excited!
Here’s Emily and Hannah on their first day.
Emily is in 3rd grade this year and Hannah is in 2nd.
I can’t believe it!
It seems like only yesterday that I was sending Emily off to Kindergarten.
My mind is having a hard time grasping the fact that she’s in 3rd grade now.
And if it was only yesterday that I sent Emily off to Kindergarten,
when did Hannah go?  And why is she in 2nd grade now?!
Then, to top it all off, Robby starts Kindergarten next week!
AHHHH!
YAY!
(I can’t decide which to think ;) )

Happy Birthday, Emily!

You know, I think I age a whole year in this week, too!
It’s amazing to compare pictures, and sad, too.
My kids are growing up.
Emily is already EIGHT!
I can’t believe it!
She gets to be baptized in three weeks.
AHHHHH!
Isn’t she pretty, though?
I sure do love her!

Happy Birthday, Robby!

Cute little Robby.  Has it been 5 yrs already?  Where is all the time going?
He’s been so excited for his birthday today… asking everyday, “How many days till my birthday?”
Daddy got him a practice drum, which is fairly quiet.
And, he got his favorite…. an “Army Guy Flashlight”!
Oh, cute Robby!  I sure love him!

The Rains Came Down & The Floods Came Up!

Last night, it started raining and thundering… LOVE it!
I love hearing the rain on our metal roof.
(The boys were a little scared, though, because of the thunder.  Ivon made it better.  He told them the clouds were farting.  They sure got a kick out of that!)
At 5 o’ clock this morning, it was just POURING rain.
By 7 o’ clock… this is what we had…

And, I can’t complain really…
at least our basement isn’t flooded.  Of course, water is seeping in.
But, it’s really amazing.
We just fixed a weak spot on the foundation on the west side of our home.
Had we not, the 3.6 earthquake just a few days ago,
coupled with all the water leaking through the original portion of cement,
possibly would have made the weak portion cave in.
Yes, it could be a LOT worse!

No Training Wheels!

Yesterday, Robby learned how to ride his bike without training wheels!  We’ve been trying for a week or two to get him to do it, but, he’s been too scared.  Which, I suppose, is why he was whining about having to do it.  But, yesterday, while Grandpa was here, Robby asked him to help him ride his bike.  So, Grandpa got behind him, and gave him a great big shove.  Over and over again.  Grandpa would run alongside him to make sure he didn’t crash too hard.  And pretty soon, Robby was able to keep his balance!  Yay!
This one’s my favorite!

He needs to work on his steering a bit more, though…

This one reminds me of my sister, Heather.
Childhood experiences… I will let her explain!
By the end of the evening, he was getting pretty good
and was quite proud of himself!
And, when Daddy got home from work, Robby was so excited to show him how good he was doing.  He was able to start himself, stop himself before he crashed, and keep himself upright.  He’s doing great!
