Mallie Anne

Our sweet little Mallie, (pronounced “Mah-lee”), was born
Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 9:35 a.m.
She weighed in at 7 lbs. 15.7 oz, so, 8 lbs, and is 19 inches long.

Isn’t she beautiful?
She’s such a sweet little thing, too.
Calm. Quiet.
And she LOVES her pacifier!
Labor was long- 11 hours.
It also decided to stop for a bit there, so the doctor put me on Pitocin.
Things got kind of scary, too.
With each contraction, Mallie’s pulse rate would take a dive.
So, they put me on oxygen,
and when that didn’t fix the problem, they stopped the Pit.
Luckily, labor continued on it’s own,
and we waited for my doctor to come and break my water.
Since he was in surgery at the time, we waited for a while.
Well, as we were waiting, Mallie decides she’s ready to make her entrance!
And the doctor was still in surgery!
So, I had a different doctor come help deliver.
Mallie was born nice and purple!
I was able to help dry her off, too.  (First time for that! Awesome!)
Ivon was asked if he wanted to cut the cord… he said, “If you knock $500 off the bill!”
(He’s not too much into that kind of stuff!)
Yet, despite her being purple and not handling labor very well, she is nice and healthy and just
beautiful!
We’ve waited for her for so long!
I love my little Mallie,
and I am so thankful that she is finally here!
